Fall Ball Registration Now Open: Dearborn Baseball House League Invites Kids of All Ages to Sign Up

For Dearborn families pricing out a fall sport, the first deadline arrives Aug. 15: registration is open for the 2026 Fall Ball season, which runs from late August or early September through late October, with no games scheduled over Labor Day weekend. Registration opened July 1. The season for Pinto, Mustang, Bronco and Colt divisions starts Aug. 24, 2026.

The league offers five age-based divisions: T-Ball for ages 4-6, Pinto/Coach Pitch for ages 6-8, Mustang for ages 8-10, Bronco for ages 11-14 and Colt for ages 14-17. Players are assigned by their age on April 30.

The listed fee is $60 for T-Ball and $75 for Pinto/Coach Pitch. Mustang and Bronco each cost $115, while Colt costs $175. Each registration also carries a 2.5% processing fee.

For the youngest players, those prices fall below the typical $75-to-$200 range for recreational baseball registration; the older divisions sit within that range. The average youth sports registration fee nationally is $197 per athlete.

That calculation matters in Dearborn, where the median household income was $65,192 in 2023 and 24.1% of residents were below the poverty line. About 54.5% of residents reported Middle Eastern or North African ancestry in the 2020 Census, making Dearborn the first Arab-majority city in the United States. The Southend neighborhood has been described as the oldest and most highly concentrated Arab-Muslim area in North America and an immigrant reception area with largely working-class residents. The city is spatially divided between households that could weather late-20th-century industrial decline and those facing labor-market insecurity.

The Aspen Institute's Project Play data from 2022 found that families spent an average of $714 on baseball when it was a child's primary sport, a figure that includes registration fees, equipment and uniforms, travel and lodging, lessons and instruction, and camps or athletic schools. Parents of house league players typically need to purchase a batting helmet, baseball glove and cleats at minimum, with some leagues also requiring pants, socks and a personal bat.

Youth baseball house league registration fees typically cover team uniforms — jersey, pants and cap in most programs — and league operational costs including field fees, umpire fees and insurance. Games are played in city parks and schools, with some crossover games at fields in nearby cities.
